What is Equibit Group?

Equibit Group Ltd. is a Canadian corporation that developed blockchain technology for the issuance, registration, and peer-to-peer transfer of securities. The project received federal scientific research and experimental development support and aimed to create infrastructure for directly registered digital securities. In the face of open hostilities from the Ontario Securities Commission the company attempted to relocate to Switzerland, where it received a no-action letter from the Swiss financial regulator.

There are currently four primary actions in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice:

  • CV-20-00645492-0000 — Equibit Group Ltd. v. Attorney General of Canada et al. (the CSIS-related action)
  • CV-21-00654929-0000 — Equibit Group Ltd. v. Christian Saucier et al. (claims involving alleged breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of intellectual property, and defamation)
  • CV-26-00015305-0000 — Equibit Group Ltd. v. Marc Godard (the alleged CSIS Officer who orchestrated the company’s destruction, as well as a fraudulent shareholder coup in 2025)
  • CV-26-00017856-0000 — Equibit Group Ltd. Nathan Wosnack et al. (impersonation websites and participation in a fraudulent shareholder coup in 2025)
Equibit Group alleges that it was subjected to a multi-year campaign of infiltration, sabotage, technical attacks, financial isolation, and interference. The company frames this pattern as a modern form of Zersetzung — the systematic degradation tactics historically associated with the East German Stasi, updated for the digital age.
Marc Godard is named as a defendant in Court File CV-26-00015305. The Statement of Claim alleges that he made early contact with the company’s founder, later embedded himself in the organization, and played a central role in subsequent interference, including a 2025 hostile takeover attempt timed to ongoing discovery in the CSIS action. Godard has not responded to the claim and appears to have gone into hiding.
Nathan Wosnack is the primary defendant in CV-26-00017856, which centers on his deployment of two impersonation websites (equibit.io and equibit.net) that used Equibit branding and, in one case, the founder’s likeness. He has been linked in the public record to efforts connected with Marc Godard, including the fraudulent 2025 shareholder coup.
Christian Saucier is a primary defendant in Court File CV-21-00654929. The claim against him and others concerns alleged breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of intellectual property (including code forking), and a public defamation campaign. Saucier has not served a Statement of Defence and worked with Godard during the 2025 hostile takeover attempt, with the goal of terminating the lawsuit against him.
Zersetzung refers to the Stasi’s method of covert psychological and social degradation designed to neutralize targets without formal arrest or overt violence. Equibit Group uses the term to describe the combination of technical attacks, financial isolation, reputational harm, infiltration, and institutional pressure it says was directed against the company and its principal.
