Equibit Group Ltd. has discovered yet another impersonation website: equibit.net, controlled by Nathan Wosnack.
This is the second known fake Equibit site deployed by Wosnack, following the earlier equibit.io operation that was taken down after our complaint to NameCheap in January 2023.
Technical Details of the Scam Site
Registrar: NameCheap (with maximum privacy protection enabled).
Hosting: Protected behind Cloudflare CDN and security services, likely NameCheap.
robots.txt: Extremely restrictive — User-agent: * Disallow: / — blocking all crawlers and archiving tools from accessing the site.
Content: A brand-adjascent clone of legitimate Equibit branding and business operations. The site falsely claims to be published by “Equibit, Inc.” — a fictitious entity that does not exist in any corporate registry. As a result, the claims made by the site of being “Licensed and Regulated” are demonstrably false.
Search Manipulation: Despite being only a couple of months old and containing minimal original content, equibit.net currently ranks #1 on Google for the primary search term “equibit”.
Pattern of Deception
Nathan Wosnack has a documented history with Equibit Group Ltd. He was involved in the company’s early days and later attempted to insert himself into Marc Godard’s hostile takeover effort by claiming shareholder status in order to terminate the lawsuit against Christian Saucier.
The deployment of these fake sites fits a clear strategy:
- Confuse potential supporters, journalists, and the public.
- Dilute the visibility of the legitimate documentation of the Equibit lawsuit.
- Create plausible deniability and sow doubt about the authenticity of our public record.
Service Providers’ Role
- NameCheap was previously notified about equibit.io and acknowledged it as abusive, yet continued to do business with Wosnack.
- Cloudflare is actively providing protection and obfuscation services to the new site.
- Google is currently elevating the fake site above the legitimate Equibit documentation.
This level of coordination and persistence suggests these efforts are part of the broader campaign of interference and retaliation documented throughout the Equibit lawsuit.
Our Response
Equibit Group Ltd. has preserved extensive evidence, including screenshots, archives, server logs, and search result documentation. Formal notices have been sent to the relevant service providers demanding immediate takedown and account termination.
We will continue to document and publicly expose every attempt to impersonate, sabotage, or suppress the public record of this case.
Warning to the Public
Beware of any website using the “Equibit” name other than equibitlawsuit.com. The legitimate project’s documentation is published exclusively here. The only other domains the company ever operated from were equibit.org, and equibitgroup.com. Both domains have been permanently redirected to equibitlawsuit.com.
