Statement of Defence
On 27 October 2023 Equibit Group Ltd. filed a Reply to Sergei Sachkov’s Defence. Default and a $1,744,711 assessment had already been entered, then set aside.
After years of non-participation, Sergei Sachkov filed a Statement of Defence on 24 March 2023 and moved to set aside default in the Equibit lawsuit.
On 1 October 2021 the Attorney General of Canada filed a Statement of Defence in the Equibit lawsuit, more than a year after service. Equibit Group’s position is that the later OIC final report contradicts key assertions in that pleading.
Equibit Group Ltd. replied to the Statements of Defence in the 2021 action against Christian Saucier and co-defendants, Court File No. CV-21-00654929-0000.

On 13 October 2020 the Attorney General of Canada filed a Notice of Intent to Defend in Court File No. CV-20-00645492-0000. The Defence itself was filed 1 October 2021.
